Dimitrios Vrachatis
Dimitrios A. Vrachatis is an Interventional Cardiologist - Electrophysiologist, Doctor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. He holds an MSc in Health Care Management. He was 3rd admitted to the Athens Medical School. He specialized at the Athens General Hospital "G.Gennimatas", where he participated in the Hemodynamic Laboratory and the Electrophysiology and Pacing Laboratory. He was retrained in Milan, Italy, with a scholarship from the Hellenic Cardiology Society. His research activity is reflected in more than 120 publications in international scientific journals of high prestige.

The science of Cardiology
CLINICAL CARDIOLOGY
Thorough individual and family history taking and clinical examination of the patient is the cornerstone of the cardiac assessment. It is usually the examinee's first contact with the physician and guides the diagnostic approach and additional testing, if required.
INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY
Interventional cardiology includes diagnostic procedures such as coronary angiography and right heart catheterization as well as therapeutic interventions such as coronary artery angioplasty, transcatheter implantation of bioprosthetic valves, closure of heart defects, etc.
CARDIAC IMAGING
Transthoracic echocardiography is an integral part of the evaluation of the cardiac patient. Advanced techniques such as stress-echo, cardiac scintigraphy, transesophageal echocardiography, computed tomography and cardiac MRI can provide diagnostic solutions to more complex problems.
ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY
The electrophysiological study examines through the heart the function of the conduction system and approaches various arrhythmia problems diagnostically. Catalysis interventions can either modify or eliminate specific arrhythmias.
